Bolognese e Roubasienne Fishing

FISH WATER ROSEGG – RIVER DRAU

 

Length: 7 km (Small Drau)  

Place: from the bridge of Rosegg to the confluence with the canal

Fishing season: from the 1st of May

Gush of water: 8 m³ per second

The rules

It’s allowed to use on fishing rod per person, the use of grubs is allowed only if taking them as baits, in which for the guest of the Aktiv Hotel is allowed to use 1kg of grubs per day and per head.

You can go into water to the knees, but it’s forbidden to keep any fish in fishing nets and bow nets. You may keep 4 fish per day, if they accord with the minimal dimensions and with the close seasons, but you have to register them in you fishing ticket. The fish:

The small Drau is a part of the Drau, the fish water begins at the bridge of Rosegg and ends at the confluence with the canal. This river appears like a classic Apennine river with a medium gush of water, it’s characterized by some flats with slow water and some slower currents with a average depth of 60 cm to 1,5 meters. The river Drau is ideal for practicing Bolognese fishing, light ledgering and trout and pike spinning.

Ideal fishing tackle for Bolognese fishing:

Use a Bolognese rod, long 5 or 6 meters, a reel with a 0,16-0,14mm line, or a solid fishing rod, long 6/7 meters, floats from 1 to 3 gr., terminals of circa 0,12mm, the sinkers should be very collected and a hook of 14/16.

Ideal fishing tackle for ledgering:

Use a telescopic rod, long 3,60/4 meters, light feeders for grubs or method of 20/25gr., a line of 0,20/0,22mm and a terminal of 0,16/0,18mm with a hook of 12/14.

Ideal fishing tackle for spinning:

Use a spinning rod, long 2,40/2,70m with a medium grammage, a line of 0,25, casting and trolling spoons and pike minnows.

FEISTRITZ FISH WATER – RIVER DRAU

Length: 1,6 km

Place: from the embankment dam to the harbor, 1,6 km downstream

Fishing season: all the year

Gush of water: 486 m³ per second

The rules:

It’s allowed to use 2 rods per person, the use of grubs and fish pasture is unlimited. It’s forbidden to use not-biodegradable nets for the feeding, and it’s not allowed to keep any fish in the bow nets.

You may keep 3 fish a day, if they accord with the minimal dimensions and with the close seasons, but you have to register them in you fishing ticket.

The river here has a large gush of water, it’s characterized of fast cornets, with an average depth from 2 to 3 meters. It’s ideal for practicing the fishing with the Bolognese or heavy ledgering. After having fed with a lot of fish pasture and grubs, because of the irregular and fast current, you fish predominately near the shore.

Ideal tackle for Bolognese fishing

Use a Bolognese rod with a length of 6m or 7m, a line of 0,18mm – 0,16mm, a float from 4 to 12gr, the terminal short and with a line of 0,14/0,16mm, the sinkers very collected and a hook of 14/16.

Ideal tackle for ledgering

Use a rod with a length from 4 to 4,5 meters, heavy feeders from 50/60g up to 150gr, you can use or feeders for grubs or method, line of 0,22mm/0,25mm and a terminal of 0,18/0,20mm, as a hook of 10/12.

Ideal tackle for spinning

Rod with a size of 2.70m with medium/heavy grammage, line of 0,30mm and rubber baits for pikes or minnows.

THE LAKE OF KUCHER AU

Dimension: circa 2,5 hectare

Place: St. Margareten im Rosental

Fishing season: all the year, beside when the lake is frozen

The rules:

It’s allowed to use 2 rods per person, the use of maggots and fish pasture is not limited. It’s forbidden to use alive fish as bites and to keep fish in fishing nets and bow nets. The use of barbed hooks is forbidden, as well for the spinning artificial bites, it’s only allowed to fish with lines over 0,22mm.

It’s not allowed to keep any fish, it’s a NO KILL fish water!

Ideal tackle for fishing with the float:

We give you the advice to use a Bolognese rod, long circa 5m, the reel charged with a 0,22mm line, floats from 1g to 3g and 14/16mm hooks.

Ideal tackle for ledgering and carp fishing:

Feeders and leads of medium grammage, type method, as bites use boilies and maize.

Ideal tackle for spinning:

Rod with a size of 2.70m with medium/heavy grammage, line of 0,30 and rubber baits for pikes or minnows; a steel wire is obligatory.

Fiume Drava, (Drava grande)

Length: 15 km

Place: from the dam of Ferlach to the bridge of Rottenstein (near the lake of Kucher Au)

Fishing season: from the 16th of May

Gush of water:  490 m³ per second

The rules:

It’s allowed to use one fishing rod per person, the use of pasture and grubs is unlimited. It’s forbidden to use not-biodegradable nets for the feeding, and it’s not allowed to keep any fish in the bow nets. You may keep 3 fish a day, if they accord with the minimal dimensions and with the close seasons, but you have to register them in you fishing ticket.

The river here has a huge gush of water, characterized by some fast currents, with an average depth of 2m to 3m.

This fish water is very various, and offers diverse fishing situations, from fast currents to fishing near the dam, and so on… The current here is very strong, because of this you with heavy Bolognese or ledgering. Predominately you fish near the shore, because the current is fast and irregular, feeding with pasture and grubs.

Use a Bolognese rod, long 6 or 7 meters, a reel with a 0,18mm – 0,16mm line, floats from 6gr. to 15gr., terminal of 0,14/0,16mm, very collected sinkers and a hook of 14/16.

Use a rod of 4/4,5m for heavy feeders from 60gr. up to 150gr., you can use feeders for grubs, line of 0,22/0,25mm, a terminal of 0,18/0,20mm, and a hook of 10/12.
